Why is Xbox constantly ignored by Media?

Xbox seems to be the only platform that gaming media always ignores, why is that?

Recently, I was going through X (formerly known as Twitter) and I saw posts from Xbox fans about IGN.

Considering that I don’t usually care about sites like IGN or Kotaku for the obvious reasons, I came to the realization that they aren’t the first gaming media to have the most incredible mistake. Ignoring one of the biggest platforms in the gaming world, the Xbox:

They seem to completely forget the Xbox Series X|S on their latest “Upcoming 2023 games” video.

Now, granted that Destin Legarie, IGN’s Director of Video Content Strategy did post on X this

If you watch the updated video here, you’ll see that there’s still a problem. IGN seems to have forgotten to mention that games like Lies of P and Starfield are available on Game Pass Day One.

Sure, Starfield is a given, but a third-party game? It seems like a weird omission.

So, as Destin from IGN might think that VO seems right, it’s really not.

And if you follow any other gaming news social sites; they seem to post negative stuff about the Xbox as quickly as possible, while they take their time for the PlayStation.

But why? Even though Xbox and PlayStation are very similar consoles with very similar power (at least for PS5 and Xbox Series X) but it doesn’t seem that way for a lot of gaming media

This is an actual headline from Gamingbible

Even though Baldur’s Gate III is on PC, releases the same day as Starfield on PS5 and a later date on Xbox Series X|S, Gamingbible chooses to make it seem like Baldur’s Gate III is a PS5 console exclusive.

With Starfield releasing in 20 days, how will the gaming media react to it? Will they give an unfavorable review, ignore the game on Xbox Series X|S, or will they be unbiased? Only time will tell.

We will be reviewing Starfield as soon as I get my Constellation Edition pre-order from my retailer.
